
A train has actually collided with a car that had stalled at the train crossing in between Liyanwala and Watareka, interfering with services on the Kelani Valley railway line, according to Sri Lanka Railways.The Meegoda Police reported that the automobile collided with the train while trying to cross the tracks.Investigations exposed that the train crossing gate operator was missing at the time of the occurrence, leading to the gate being left open.The motorist of the lorry was subsequently transported to Padukka Divisional Hospital.Although he sustained minor injuries, his condition is ruled out serious, as validated by the police.A spokesperson from Padukka Railway Station specified that the train involved in the mishap was the final train operating on the Kelani Valley Line in the morning.Following the crash, the trains engine stopped working to reboot, leading to the suspension of its services, he stated.
